Evicting Justin Case | Unclutterer →

minimalmac:

I agree whole-hardily. This Justin guy has got to go. And, while you are at it, stop him from using your computer too. He downloads stuff, saves the installers, keeps your Dropbox full of documents and PDF’s you don’t need, and is just a general worry wart. Seriously, I know he means well but for your own sake you need to kick him to the curb.

Love this quote from Helen Keller:

“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”

The Keller quote is spot on.  Physical (and digital) possessions do NOT provide security.  When you’re up against it and outmatched - the only kind of fight worth fighting - the biggest shield in the world is useless without the wherewithal that comes from experience and a few comrades to help in the battle. So do away with as much as you can, but nourish the good relationships.  Then go do something daring.

(Apologies for this cheesy-ass reblog post.)
